Ash Wednesday, February 17, at Saron Lutheran Church

The season of Lent is fast approaching! As we kick off this season of returning to God with all our hearts, Ash Wednesday will be observed in two parts:

  1. You are invited to come to church on Wednesday, February 17, for the imposition of ashes anytime between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. outside the front door of Saron Lutheran Church (1656 Main Street, Strasburg, Colorado, 80136​). You will hear the words “From dust you are and to dust you shall return” along with a prayer for your 40 days.

  2. You’ll hear the familiar readings, a sermon message, prayer and call to Lent through a worship service that you can view at home on Facebook Live at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, or later if need be. If you are unable to receive the ashes at church, you will be invited during this time to trace a cross on your foreheads at home. (Your own or someone else’s!)
