Saron Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, part of the Rocky Mountain Synod

What We Teach

  • We Lutherans believe in the Triune God—the Father the Creator of all, the Son the Redeemer and Savior of all people, and the Holy Spirit the Enlightener and Sustainer.

  • We believe that the Bible is God’s Word, God’s saving story, our guide for life.

  • We believe Christ is truly present with us in his gifts of the sacraments of baptism and Holy Communion.

  • When we gather for worship, we share with believers everywhere.  As members of the ELCA we connect, worship and serve with Christians worldwide in ecumenical witness and service.

  • We welcome all regardless of who they are, where they are from, or what their abilities are as Christ welcomed all to his table.

  • When we care for others, when we spread God’s saving message and when we give of ourselves to others, we live out our Christian calling.

We are saved by the grace of God alone, not by anything we do.

We trust that our sins are forgiven for Christ’s sake, who died for us. We call that trust “faith.”

We believe that grace and trust free us from fear, guilt, and worry so that we can live with joy and love.

We respond to God’s grace by loving the creation that God loves, especially the poor, hungry, lonely, and vulnerable.

Pastor Asher Vincent

My name is Asher Vincent and I am honored to be called to serve this congregation as pastor, and I am grateful for the opportunity to begin this ministry together. I believe the heart of the Christian faith is God’s grace—freely given, deeply trustworthy, and present in the midst of ordinary life.

I was formed in the Lutheran tradition, where Word and Sacrament shape our life together and where faith is lived out in love of neighbor. A verse that guides me in ministry is Micah 6:8: to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God. I believe every person is created in the image of God and worthy of dignity, care, and belonging. I am committed to helping the church be a place where people are welcomed as they are and encouraged to grow into who God is calling them to be.

I am originally from the Denver metro area and am grateful to be serving in this region. I graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2024 and completed my internship at a congregation outside of Washington, DC. Before entering seminary, I worked as a caseworker, an experience that continues to shape my pastoral approach and my commitment to justice, compassion, and care for the whole person. I earned my undergraduate degree in Spanish, with minors in Latinx Studies and International Studies, from the University of Wyoming.

As a pastor in my first call, I come to this ministry with humility, openness, and a deep desire to listen and learn. I believe ministry is something we share, shaped by the gifts of the whole community and by attentiveness to where the Holy Spirit is already at work among us.

When I am not working, I love to spend time reading, crafting, or relaxing with my partner, Meredith, and our animals—who we affectionately call “The Grove.” I look forward to getting to know this congregation and walking together in faith, service, and hope.

Our History

Saron Lutheran Church was established in Adams County by Norwegian immigrants in 1911. They first met at Hill Top School and chartered as "Saron Sandinavisk Lutherisk Menighed." The name was changed to its present day form on December 8, 1920. "Saron" is Norwegian for "Sharon," a reference to the Sharon Plain which constitutes the northern half of the coastal plain of modern-day Israel. It is mentioned in the Bible and seemed appropriate for a church established on the high plains of Eastern Colorado.

Saron built a church in 1941 at 1656 Main Street in Strasburg. Through the fundraising of the Women's group, two additions have been made over the years to accommodate the growing numbers of attendees and the need for fellowship and educational activities.

Located on I-70, Saron Lutheran Church continues to serve God, the local community, nomads and homesteaders alike.
